Decor Ideas: Affordable and Simple

I'd like to share a couple AFFORDABLE and SIMPLE room decor ideas for your little ones...

Above my daughter's palooza bins, we've mounted three IKEA lack shelves which are super inexpensive, and best of all, PINK, but they do come in every color under the sun. The shelves are a wonderful way of displaying favorite books, stuffed animals, momentos, and breakables. On the top shelf stands a giant "H". You can buy these huge cardboard letters from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I gave the letter a few coats of paint, and then embellished it with some colorful ribbons, ric rac, buttons, and a wool felt flower.

On another wall, hangs a collage of canvas art I created using a mix of paper, paint, and ribbons. My inspiration was a series of birdie canvases by Pottery Barn Kids which I was far too frugal to buy, and they seemed easy enough to make. These could be interpreted in anyway you like, using a sports, animal, or cupcake themeetc, and using as many sizes and shapes of canvases you like. Many of the canvases are wrapped with paper, making it easily reusable for your next project.

Introducing a new designer! Joyous Ones...

I'm excited to introduce a new designer to the Colorful Kisses store, Joyous Ones! Joyous Ones designs adorable clothing and accessories for babes. I've recently added her newest product, the Joyous Sash. The sash is made with an expandable velcro enclosure which makes for easy dressing and the perfect fit.

What I love about this product aside from it never falling off, is that it's the simplest, yet prettiest of accessories for a plain ol' white onesie. Velcro on the Joyous Sash, and slip a felt flower in her hair and we're off to the grocery store :)

my new favorite!

I'll be making heaps of these large felt flower snap clippies for my daughter! each clip is intricately handcrafted with the clip sealed securely inside a layered felt flower in a variety of yummy colors. the hand-sewn felt flower is embellished with a coordinating button, gem, or resette, etc. What I love about this clip is that the snap is fully concealed and it looks absolutely darling with side swept bangs.

Well, it's been a busy week... With help from my sister-in-law, I've managed to package over 50 clips and sets to replenish my stock at local boutiques! I love having endless creative freedom...
